The Red Flag© Program has been extensively trialled and conducted in various formats since 1995.

  • It has been taught, over five days, to flying instructors as "Acquiring and Maintaining Situation Awareness".
  • Four-day Workshops for professionals and pilots are held at Binna Burra in South-East Qld, combing theory learning with experiential and reinforcement exercises.
  • Queensland Emergency Services officers receive half-day Workshops on "Decision-Making Under Stress", using Red Flag materials.
  • Aviation professionals – including operations staff, aircraft maintenance engineers, managers, pilots, flight attendants, air traffic controllers – have also participated in the one-day Workshop.
  • Small groups of non-aviation professionals have been briefed on its potential to reduce their exposure to Professional Indemnity (PI) claims, and thus to argue the case for lower PI premiums.

Red Flag Reference Manual – Review

Fit to Fly is an essential component of any Red Flag program. As well as setting out a series of Case Studies – to exemplify typical behaviours in people with high error potential – it provides exercises anyone can use to explore their ability to perform under stress. Warning

Having done the exploration – self-diagnosis – you can then integrate cognitive exercises into your fitness training routines.
