Better Pilot Training Guidelines

Don't Send Your Ducks to Eagle School

"Good people are found, not changed," says the management guru.

"You want good people, you have to find them."

But, the guru also says, "While you can't change people  ... they can change themselves."

That is to say: Training can do anything for you if you supply the motivation and
energy.

The keen pilot trainee makes it; a more talented contemporary loses the will to prevail & quits.

Any training system can induce in people
- you - the drive to be different, to be better ... but you'll need to know what you're doing.

Guidelines

Acknowledgement

The Civil Aviation Safety Authority (CASA) is sponsoring this Project to improve pilot training methods. In so doing they are demonstrating clear acceptance of the propositions that:

  • The business of flight training can be made to work better for the student, and,
  • There are identifiable safety benefits carried by pilots who graduate from High Effect courses

CASA's thus demonstrating leadership earns them great respect for open mindedness to schemes with potential to enhance safety factors in flight operations.
